Partnering with community organizations for lantern walk

June 17, 2023 by Krista Hull

Everyone is welcome to join Redeem & Restore Center, along with other community partners, for late afternoon activities, food and beverages, and an early evening lantern walk on Friday, June 23, from 5:30-8pm at Minooka Park. Redeem & Restore Center provides a support system to love, restore, and support women recovering from sex trafficking and exploitation. Along with other organizations, Redeem & Restore Center is hosting the walk to help raise awareness for a number of community issues.

The entire event—carnival games for prizes for young and old; booths; brats, hot dogs, chips, desserts, and beverages; brief mic time for all vendors; and the lantern walk—is a collaborative effort with Celebrate Recovery, See Brighter Days Counseling Services, La Casa de Esperanza, Via Chiropractic, Betterway Products, Grace Healing and Wellness Center, and Labrador Education And Rescue Network (L.E.A.R.N.).

All of the participating organizations hope to connect attendees with community resources they or someone they love may need. “This is a wonderful opportunity for our Center to collaborate with others and shine a light on the darkness some of our fellow residents are facing,” says Redeem & Restore Center President and Founder Krista Hull.

The games, food, and walk (including a lantern) are included in the fee. For more information and to register, visit https://redeemandrestore.org/event/wisconsin-lantern-walk/. Minooka Park is located at 1927 E. Sunset Drive in Waukesha, Wis.
