Don’t you love it when your friends stick up for you? Just knowing you have someone in your corner, that you are not alone! We all need friends we can count on.
Can you imagine not having even one friend? You would be overwhelmingly lonely and life would feel all consuming.
Now imagine you do have a friend BUT they are stuck in the same dark pit as you. It still can be comforting, but they really can’t help you.
When you are being exploited and sold for sex- it is as if you are in a deep dark pit with no way out. No one really wants to help you. No one cares how you feel or what you want. They all want to use you for their benefit. You are all alone, have no choices other than to obey, no safe place to go, beaten, treated as garbage- how do you get out of this pit?? How do you even stay alive?
Sometimes miracles happen. You could get arrested and have a wonderful detective try to help you find a way out. You could meet a wonderful person on the street who offers you a smile and a place to shower and eat. You could end up in a hospital because you were beaten so bad and have to stay a few days and someone may come to offer help. They FBI does a state wide sting and rescues you from your pimp. These things can happen and have happened.
At Redeem & Restore Center we have trained advocates to walk alongside women that do encounter a miracle. We meet them where they are at and become their friend, mentor, and coach as they navigate healing and choices for a new life.
AND soon we will also have a long- term restorative care home for women to come and live for up to 24 months as they heal and reclaim their lives.
We will FIGHT FOR THEM as long as we are alive! As long as they have breath they are worthy of love!
