The world tries to tell us and show us what to believe, what we are to look like, and how we should respond. Stop settling for whatever comes your way. Start being intentional at becoming what God has intended for you and how he created you to shine for Him.
‘God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them’. Genesis 1:27
Trust in the ONE who created you. SEEK HIM for the truth. If we live out of an identity based on how God sees us, we no longer feel the need to find our worth in our external circumstances. In this, His love will continually be revealed to you in new ways.
From PSALM 139: You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
HE KNOWS YOU! He LOVES YOU! YOU were made to SHINE!
We are not a replicate of god; He made you with a few pieces of His glory. This way, you could choose to trust Him in your weaknesses, learn to work with others and share your gifts together, use your gifts to shine His glory through your strengths, and be a help and support to others who do not have the gifts and strengths you have.
I struggled connecting with those scripture verses because I did not experience things that would help me embrace the truth. I had no encouragement and support growing up. These two tools were significant in revealing my value that I could never see:
- Strength Finder – Only need to learn the top 5
- Enneagram Personalities: Enneagram Institute and Your Enneagram Coach
Once you know your strengths, then you will also know your true weaknesses. If you can begin to connect the dots on how God made you and how your world has shaped you (through relating to the answers from the 2 tests above), you can begin to make better choices in being who God created you to be! It is certainly a battle as we live in a world that seeks to define us by its own standards.
Just Remember:
Focus on weakness= failure. Focus on strengths= pride. Focus on your creator= VICTORY
Surrendering and focusing on God and His will daily helps keep that all in balance! And it allows us to confidently and boldly share His love with others the way He created us to!
