AWARENESS/KNOWLEDGE is the first basic step in tackling this issue. Redeem and Restore Center believes awareness education will lead to prevention and intervention of sex trafficking, along with restoration for victims. We are providing educational awareness and prevention training to women’s clubs, churches, students, business leaders, and more. We are intervening in Womens lives through outreach at strip clubs and prison. We are continually sharing our vision for the need of the restoration housing and services for foundational healing of women survivors.
We present DOMESTIC HUMAN TRAFFICKING 101 & Volunteer Training quarterly. You can find our next scheduled date and location under Events.
We welcome opportunities to offer PRESENTATIONS to: Church groups, Women Clubs, Small Groups, Conferences, Rotary, etc. We can focus in on one area for your group: In our Backyard, A Leading Industry, Medical Professionals, Brief Overview Introduction, etc. You may request a presentation under our Take Action page.
At our presentations we have met survivors, parents of victims, family member of trafficker, past buyers of sex, and average people who didn’t know this was happening here.
“I can’t believe this is happening right here…”
“I would gladly encourage others to come and learn.”
January is National Human Trafficking Awareness Month. So, each year we partner with others to show documentary In Plain Sight followed by Q & A.
We have an annual event: Wisconsin Lantern Walk. This is a ‘soft’ awareness event for all ages and we partner with other organizations to reach out to various communities in Wisconsin. Something anyone can do to learn and Shine Their Light into the Darkness.
Hotel Awareness Education: Offering basic understanding and training to recognize signs of trafficking and to call hotline 1-888-3737-888. Helping them stay in business and out of bad press.
Speaking to Our Vulnerable Youth & Families
We talk about statistics, why they are vulnerable, how they are targeted, how to identify traffickers, how to be a real friend. Then we also discuss what it means to be groomed, also about trauma, porn, deceit, and social media.
“How come other adults don’t talk to us like this”, a male HS student
